Day 1

Arrive Cairo

Arrival Cairo International Airport our High Tours representative will meet you and transfer to hotel in Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2

Pyramids of Giza Tour

After Breakfast our guide will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle to the pyramids of Giza that lies on the west bank of the Nile facing Cairo. On top of Giza plateau rise the three pyramids erected by Cheops, Chepren and Mycerinus, guarded by the mysterious Sphinx which is a mythical statue with the body of a lion and a human head. Giza’a three pyramids and the Sphinx were constructed in the 4th dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. About 2,500 BC, King Khufu, the second pharaoh of the fourth dynasty, commissioned the building of his tomb at Giza. On an average, over 2 million blocks of stone was used to build Khufu’s pyramid, and the heaviest blocks were used as the ceiling of Khufu’s burial chamber. Khufu’s son was the next in the royal line who commissioned the building of his own pyramid complex which includes the Sphinx. Each pyramid has a mortuary temple and a valley temple linked by long causeways that were rooted and walled. After marveling at the pyramids of Giza, you will be dropped back to your hotel in Cairo.

Day 3

Over day Alexandria

In the morning, you will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Cairo. Accompanied by a guide, you will be taken to the city of Alexandria; about 3 hours drive from Cairo. Alexandria has the largest port and is the second city of Egypt. It is internationally known as the ‘Bride of the Mediterranean’. You will be taken to the Montazah Summer Palace, walk around and enjoy the Montazah gardens. Originally built in 1892, it was the summer home of the Egyptian Royal family. Following visit the fort and Citadel of Qaitbay (from outside only; without sightseeing Tickets), which was built around 1480 y the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay. It is believed to rest on the site and to be built from the stones of the Pharos lighthouse, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Near by is a small navel museum, which was mostly devoted to Nelson's defeat of Napoleon's fleet right off the coast of Alexandria on August 1-2, 1798. Next visit to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This library that was the successor to the great ancient library of Alexandria came to life through a unique cooperation between Egypt, UNESCO and the Norwegian architect firm Snøhetta. A guided tour with good extra time gave the ability to see and feel this grand library and monument. Next is a visit to the Bombay's Pillar which was built in 297 AD for the Roman Emperor Diocletian. The Pillar itself is a 9 meters / 29 feet in circumference and it is said that 22 people could lunch on the capital, or flat top of the Pillar. In the end it was time to visit the Catacomb of Komel-Shokafa. These tombs were tunneled into the bedrock in the age of the Antonine emperors (2nd century A.D.) for a single wealthy family still practicing the ancient religion. These tombs represent the last existing major construction for the sake of the old Egyptian religion. You will be dropped back to your hotel in Cairo.

Day 4

Egyptian Museum & Khan Al Kallili

After breakfast at hotel, start a day tour to Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. The museum holds some of the finest treasures of human history, and is filled far beyond the capacity of the 100 year old building.There are as much as 136,000 items exhibited. 40,000 more lie in the basement, many are sinking into the soft ground. A great number of the items are tiny, coins or amulets, but prepare yourself for the awe of facing great statues and treasures. After that visit Khan Al Khalili Bazzars that date back to 1382. Shops in this district are legendary for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and more! Everything for sale in these shops is negotiable - be prepared to bargain for goods in this exciting maze of shops! Then transfer to Train Station and overnight on board of train heading to Luxor.

Day 5

Luxor

Pick up from Luxor Station and transfer to cruise. Embarkation before lunch. After Lunch visit the temple of Karnak and the temple of Luxor. Back to cruise for overnight in Luxor. 

Day 6

Luxor / Esna / Edfu

Pick up from the cruise and Cross to the West Bank. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Back to cruise and sail to Esna. Cross the lock. Back to cruise and sail to Edfu and overnight.

Day 7

Edfu /Kom Ombo / Aswan

After breakfast visit the temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo. Then visit the temple shared by the two Gods Sobek and Haroeris. Sail to Aswan and overnight. 

Day 8

Aswan

Pick up from the cruise and visit of the High Dam and the temple of Philae. View of the Elephantine Island by felucca (sailing boat) and view of the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. 

Day 9

Abu Simbel

Disembarkation in the early morning. Pick up from cruise and transfer to visit Abu Simbel temples. You will enjoy a visit of The Sun Temple of Ramesses II and Nefertari's Temple of Hathor. Transfer back to Aswan and boarding on Seating Train to Cairo.

Day 10

Islamic & Coptic Cairo Tour

High Tours representative will pick up from Cairo station and enjoy Half Day trip in Islamic & Coptic Cairo. Your guide will begin your guided tour in Islamic Cairo - we start at the Citadel fortress with a visit to the Mohammed Ali Mosque (the alabaster mosque). The Citadel that was built by Salah-El-Din in the 12th Century and was the seat of power for the following 700 years. On the premises is the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, one of the landmarks of Cairo whose minaret can be seen from any part of the city. The Mohammed Ali mosque was built in Turkish style, very similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey. Our next stop is in Coptic Cairo home of some of the oldest Christian churches in the world and retrace the steps where Mary and Joseph walked thousands of years ago. We will visit the Hanging Church, also known as El Muallaqa that was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and it was believed to have been built at the end of the 3rd century. Built on the outer wall you will see the Greek Church of St. George. Following is a visit to the Church of St. Sergius, a perfect example of Coptic churches and monasteries. It was founded at the end of the 4th century and it stands on a crypt that is said to have sheltered the holy family during their flight from Egypt. After that you will be dropped back to hotel in Cairo.

Day 11

Departure from Cairo

After breakfast and check out of hotel our High Tours representative will meet you and transfer to Cairo International airport for final departure.
