Communication :
The telephone network has improved considerably since the mid 1980's. Telex, telephones and faxes are available at nearly every hotel and business. Telegrams are still widely used. International phone calls are possible only if you have an international line. International lines are available at all major hotels. In addition, a "Central" is a communication center operated by the government, much like a post offices, which offers long distance and overseas phone, fax, and telegram services. You can pay cash for every phone call, or buy magnetic cards to use any time at the phone booths inside the "Central".
Internet and e-mail usage is growing rapidly in Egypt. More information is available on Internet and e-mail access, including a listing of service providers. Some of the providers operate Cyber Cafés which is a convenient way for visitors to access their accounts remotely.

Food, Alcoholic and Beverages :
Egyptians used to cook in clay ovens as well as over open fires. Food is baked, boiled, stewed, fried, grilled, or roasted. Storage jars, bowls, pots, pans are all used in the preparation of food. Besides the Egyptian food you will find different kinds of restaurants that will serve you all kinds of universal food.
Alcoholic beverages and bottled drinks are readily available throughout the country (especially in larger towns and cities, as well as tourist centres).
