Several major international airports have been closed due to an ongoing cold wave across the European continent, reducing the number of incoming flights to Egypt, say tourism specialists.

“But we can't yet determine whether local hotel occupancies will be affected over the Christmas holidays,” said tourism expert Sami Suleiman, noting that occupancy rates at five-star hotels currently stood at 100 percent.

Tourism expert Maged Abdel Kader, for his part, pointed out that the number of international flights to Egypt had already decreased by 12 percent as a direct result of Europe's cold wave.
